Germany becomes a new Instruct member

05-Jan-2012

We are pleased to welcome Germany as a new Instruct member. In Germany, Instruct activities  in four distinguished institutions around the country will be led from the the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry in Martinsried, recognised as an internationally leading centre for cryo-electron microscopy and the Max Planck Institute for Biosphysics in Frankfurt, specializing in understanding membrane protein structural biology. The Institute of Biophysical Chemistry at the Goethe University Frankfurt is associated to the Max Planck Institute of Biophysics to form the Instruct Core Centre in Frankfurt. The Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research at Braunschweig specializes in the production of demanding proteins with animal cell line systems in the amount and quality required for structural biology. The Leibniz Institute for Molecular Pharmacology in Berlin is devoted to research in molecular pharmacology, its aim to make solid-state NMR an easily applicable structure determination tool, especially for investigation of membrane proteins and dynamic biomolecular complexes.  Finally, the European Molecular Biology Laboratory at Heidelberg and Hamburg provides world class facilities in light microscopy, crystallography, SAXS and computational structural biology.
