Renowned structural chemist Professor Sir Chris Dobson dies

Professor Sir Chris Dobson, a renowned structural chemist, has died. Chris was an innovative chemist who significantly advanced global understanding of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. Using experimental computational and theoretical approaches, he studied misfolded proteins such as amyloid proteins with the objective of identifying new methods for disease prevention. Chris was elected as Master of St. John's College Cambridge in 2007 and remained in post until his death. He will be remembered as an outstanding scientist and humanitarian who mentored many young academics to fulfil their career aims.
