Acronyms are out, catchy names are in. The EU are running a competition to find a name for the next EU research and innovation programme. To summarise what they are looking for:
The new programme will support researchers and innovators in Europe, boost excellence and ensure that good ideas reach the market and generate real economic growth and new jobs. This needs to be reflected in a name.
Deadline for submission is midnight, 10 May 2011. They are looking for a name which is easily associated with research and innovation, while also being original, memorable, and either useable in a wide range of languages or easy to translate, and easy to pronounce and spell. How hard can it be?
